My son loves trucks and semi-trucks in particular, so this was a great find. Both the truck and the helicopter light up, while the copter’s blade also spin. There’s a setting on the copter which allows you to chose either lights and spinning or lights only which is nice. The blades of the helicopter spin smoothly and quietly, there’s even a decoupler which prevents the motor from breaking when the blades are blocked. The helicopter in ours doesn’t look like the one in the photos; ours is the Bell B222 which is a bit cooler.

Put new battery in car and lights still very dim. Very disappointed with on/off switch for helicopter. When off if buttons touched on the side ( red and three white) the blades begin to rotate despite being turned to off. The helicopter is seriously cool, but I’m not sure we’ll keep it because of danger with self starting blades in off position.Continued review. Keep th truck. Took screws out of helicopter and loosen the pressure on the sides and the blades rotated. It makes a noise like its hitting something when turning but is working. Upped to three stars. Very cool–wished worked perfectly, but glad I bought.

I bought as a gift and they loved it. Looked great, however, I did find a possible issue where took one star off. I’ve bought the before and they have a battery installed with tab protector in compartment you have to pull out. This had “NO batteries” inside box or the actual toy despite the box I think said, “batteries included”. I was surprised because I’ve gotten many Hess products and most have sounds that require batteries.

I purchased this as a birthday gift for my 3 year old son who wanted something a little more interactive… he calls it his βspecial toyβ now and absolutely loves it. This being my first time with Hess, I can tell they put care into the design of their products… superb overall (had me wishing they made toys like this in my early days)!! The semi truck intricately lights up all over with 2 C batteries and has buttons for various patterns of blinking lights to help the chopper find its way to the landing pad (the truck bed). The real masterpiece though is the helicopter itself, which lights up and spins its rotors with the push of a button on 1 AA battery (and for all the action the battery seems to last a good while). Itβs lightweight (so easy to carry) but pretty durable in hands his ageβthe only minor issue is the green tail elevator fins which easily pop off and are now permanently kept off for safekeeping. Happy flying!! Would gladly purchase a Hess product again.

The quality is amazing! No other toy car is made with such quality!!! My boys love playing with these and you cant even hear the wheels on the floor! Plan to add more to their collection.
