I purchased this for my grandson and he enjoys it. Iโve purchased four Tonka Metal toy trucks and construction toys. I know he will be outside playing with them and building a great imagination. I think as he grows older they will take a place of pride in ownership as I had for my bulldozer in the early 60โs I still had it up to a few years ago and lost it in a move. I still have fond memories of my uncle who purchased it for me!!

Product is described as for kids 3 and up. My 4 year old has pinched his fingers on the adjuster mechanism that enables the Crain arm to be higher or lower. The adjuster pops in and out of place like a gear shift tho Iโve found it to easily get knocked out of place if bumped causing the crane arm to crash down and the adjuster to slide out fast.. this is one place fingers get pinched especially if the Crain is caring a load. Fingers get pinched by the adjuster or the arm coming crashing down. Another place is in the folding arm itself but that happens less of the time. Additionally there is no counter balance on the crane so even the arm is fully up even a small load can cause the whole crane to topple over.Recommendations to Tonka: make it longer, no folding arm. Redesign the adjuster to be more child finger safe, add a counter balance weight, add stabilizers that snap out into place at corners of crane truck, make it a little easier for the crane to swivel.

We buy one of these every year for Christmas. Different kind each time. My Grandson loves them & he plays hard so the steel construction is important.I feel the price is a bit high but for the quality it’s worth it.

My 3 year old son loves this. He beats up on it pretty hard and it holds up.
