Holy cow is this thing cool. I never expected it to be so nice. My little boy got this for his 6th birthday and he has been the hero of the neighborhood and with all the kids at Thanksgiving. The truck can climb up just about anything and the radio control distance is very far. Very much exceeded my expectations and I would recommend this for someone who is looking for a step up from the typical RC kid car you can buy in any mass retailer store. Also my sons are very hard on all toys, especially outdoor toys and it has held up. Make sure you read the battery charging instructions. Charge it for 2 hours the first 2 times, and only 1 hour each time after that. I would guess that the battery lasts close to an hour on constant play.

I don’t expect much from low priced R/C cars. I usually expect them to last a few weeks at best. Something always breaks or stops working. And they don’t ever seem to perform as advertised. Then I bought this for my son. Wow. This thing is awesome! It will drive right over top of me and my boys. Soft tires for great traction, powerful motors keep it moving even in rough terrain, and the suspension has loads of travel. It’s not fast but it’s not supposed to be. I never thought I’d be able actually crawl over rocks with this but it has exceeded my expectations and then some. Have yet to see how the battery holds up but a few weeks in and so far, so good. Best R/C car I’ve ever owned under $100.

I was thrilled when this package arrived. The remote is solid. The car is huge. Tires are huge. The linkage is really amazing and was amazed at how it literally navigates anything. Yes, you’ll see that it does not have variable speed, but that doesn’t matter at all, the car drives perfectly, especially as a rock crawler, with the single speed forward and reverse drive. Lithium Ion rechargeable battery holds a charge well. Great find.Do you remember the days when Tyco RC ruled the lands? In particular the Heads up? Fortunately and unfortunately, I do and its made it extremely difficult to buy an RC car for my 5 year old son. When I purchased this, my primary requirements were pretty simple – a solid remote control and a good build so that dirt, grass and falls wouldn’t be an issue. I was pretty shocked that none of the RC companies at the big box stores, such as fastlane and new bright, fit any of these requirements. They all seemed incredibly cheap, with lots of attention on asthetics but zero attention to making a great RC car.Not this car. Build is fantatic, remote is solid (and great for little hands), and the car is incredibly fun to drive given the cool linkage. Time will tell how it will hold up, but I’ll say this: this is an RC car that your kid can have a great time with, beat up and while it may brake if you’re really rough with it, what doesn’t brake at some point? The linkage is very well built for a relatively inexpensive RC car and on visual inspection at least, should take a pretty good beating. I’m 100% happy with my purchase.

Bought 2 of these for my kids for Christmas and they’re still working a month later. I can’t give it five stars because the battery lasts only about 15-20 minutes of continuous use and charging takes about an hour. Best part of the crawler are the suspension articulation and the large, realistic tires. It has 2 forward speeds; hard to notice at first but pressing the trigger all the way makes it run a little faster. The crawlers have taken many abuses such as drops, flips, ran in snow, dirt by my kids but nothing broke yet. Probably Maisto’s best rc vehicle for kids but it is no where near hobby-grade toy.

An amazing toy that exceeds expectations. These things can climb anything they can get their wheels on pretty much. My boys have climbed large rocks and firewood stacks too. We have rocky and wooded property, and these have been the perfect R/C Toy.I watched a review on a prior version of Maisto Rock Crawler and was impressed. I was even happier to find out that video did not even begin to capture what this toy can do.We have three of these. Two were bought from Amazon. All three work great so far. The first two have been used about 5 charge cycles each. So for us they are promising to be durable. Even if one broke tomorrow though, these have performed so well that they have been worth their price for the hours of enjoyment they have provided. Finally, as for battery life, I haven’t timed it, and it will very depending on what is being climbed, etc, but I can say my boys haven’t been let down. They wouldn’t mind to keep going but are also ready to move onto something else while they recharge. Of course we aren’t leaving home to put them to the test. We might want spare batteries if we were having to load up and go to a park to use them.

Have had Two of these in good operation since Christmas. I have two nephews, 5 & 4. They love them, and my sister has a large flat yard. We built an obstacle course and these things climb!I did have to send one back after only 2 days of usage. They are built with a front and rear set of motors and on the one the rear motor quit working. Contacted Amazon, they sent a replacement with no hassle.I did see the reviews from other’s that had similar problems. That is why I bought the extended warranty. Chances are that if yours is defective that it will fail in the first 2 or 3 uses so Amazon will cover, but with two young nephews I felt that the umbrella warranty was a good choice.I buy alot on Amazon, some of their prices are great some not so. This one was awesome!

Just got our R/C Rock Crawler today, a week ahead of expected delivery, and it exceeds my expectations in every way. For such an inexpensive toy, I can’t believe what this thing can do. It will go over just about anything you put in front if it. Right out of the box we were conquering towering tree roots, concrete curbs, and even a railway tie with ease. Seems to be durable enough, having rolled and somersaulted many times during our test trial and driving away with only minor scratches. I would say to anyone thinking about buying this, stop thinking and just buy it. You will be thoroughly impressed like we are.
