Here is a perfect example of a simple toy of multiple uses. I first ordered this cute little tug because my 15 month old daughter didn’t have many tub toys . . . or rather, almost all of her tub toys, with the exception of a trio of duckies, were from my kitchen and I was starting to need some of them back! The price was reasonable, and I really liked the fact that it was made from recycled materials and didn’t contain any BPA. When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by just how large it was (comparable to a kid’s watering can); I knew that it had a spout so that one could pour the water from it, but now I began to get my hopes up: oh, could this possibly be the solution to the horror that is hairwashing night at our house?Just so you understand how horrible hairwashing can be, my daughter has, pretty much from birth, screamed while getting her hair washed (as in, blood-curdling, get-a-mother’s-heart-racing, thank-goodness-the-neighbors-are-an-acre-away-and-so-hopefully-can’t-hear-this-when-the-windows-are-open SCREAMS); she does not like getting her hair washed, oh no she does not. At this point, I was pretty much using a plastic takeout container of water to try to get the rinsing done as quickly as possible. While looking at the cute red tug boat, however, I began to think “hmmm, it holds more water than the takeout container, which could make it an even faster job, but it’s also got that spout and a handle, so it should be easier to control and aim . . . plus it’s cute and brightly colored – could be distratcting!” I let her play with the tug during the next couple (non-hairwashing) baths – after all, I didn’t want her to necessarily associate it with hairwashing and start hating the poor thing! I then got ready to use it: first I used it to wet her hair down – not a peep and not a drop of water in her eyes! I then sudsed up her hair, which she barely seemed to even notice (usually she’s already in the middle of “Upset-town,” by this point – just try keeping shampoo out of the face of a squirming and miserable kid). I held my breath for the final test: actually rinsing her hair . . . I rinsed most of the shampoo out of the back of her hair first . . . still nothing! She did get a bit upset when I got to the front of her hair and the all over final rinse; maybe part of her problem is that she just doesn’t like having to tilt her head back. But this was more just general “eh-eh-eh” whiney-ness; there were – I kid you not – NO SCREAMS!Have I mentioned that I just LOVE this tug boat?!!Just so you know, it’s also just a nice basic tub toy. It floats beautifully (you have to really push it down under the water . . . or maybe have a child who likes to do recreations of horrible storms at sea during his or her baths . . . to get water in it). It pours beautifully (a godsend for me, but also a pleasurable detail for my daughter who, in common with many toddlers, just loves pouring things into other things). And that handy handle on the back has become a water slide for my daughter’s duck family – WHEEEEEE!This product is definitely recommended!

I got this toy for my 1year old in the bathtub. After nearly 2 years, it is still with him for every bath. It has held up like a champ after being thrown, bit, dunked, and treated like a 2 year olds play toy. I really can’t complain. I mentioned that there was one small problem. It is tough as heck to clean out the inside. After months and months of daily baths, the inside get a black film on it. It’s tough to notice since you really can’t see inside that easily. Soaking bleach on the inside doesn’t clean it, but I hope it disinfects it. It’s too small to scrub with an old toothbrush. I wouldn’t let this discourage you from buying it, though. Just try to remember to dump it out and let it dry after every use (impossible with kids, I know). I gave it good ratings because we like it so much we are going to be getting more green toys again soon.Good luck and enjoy.

Fantastic bath toy. Is exactly what it looks like, and very high quality. The only reason why it gets four stars is because it isn’t as much fun as theΒ Green Toys Ferry Boat with Mini Cars Bathtub Toy, Blue/White . We bought this and the ferry together, and since the ferry has a moving ramp and two cars, it is simply more fun. That doesn’t mean that my son doesn’t like this toy, he does, but he likes the ferry a whole lot more so he mostly plays with the ferry. The boat is all thick, high quality plastic (made of recycled milk cartons in case your into that), and the deck can easily be removed from the hull by an adult for easy cleaning. But since it drains super easily, after all the whole point of the toy is to pour out the water, that really isn’t much of an issue anyways.Definitely a five star toy, but since the ferry is better, I highly recommend you buy it instead. Perhaps i you have a one year old then you might want this first as its simpler, but for a two year old buy the ferry!

Important note: the green toy tug boat has been redesigned, apparently to address some of the issues pointed out in the few negative reviews it has received. The new design can be identified buy four βcleatsβ along the outer edge of the deck and a little cross shaped barrier in the pilot house door window. The cleats are the color of the hull and are now what hold the deck to the hull (no screws). The boat can now be easily dissembled by pressing in on the cleats and separating the deck from the hull. the boat can then easily be cleaned inside and out. It then just snaps back together. (the pictures in the ad still show the old design as of this writing)green toys may seem expensive for simple plastic toys, but they are very well made and have a real rugged feel to them that makes me think they will last a long time. The boat is ~9β long with a ~5β beam. I test it and it floats quite well.I purchased this one as a gag gift for work. I have purchased some in the past as gifts for otherβs kids and they are always well received.

We had bought this at a box store originally. My son (then 3, now 4) has loved it from day 1. Recently the ocean waves took it from him and we couldnβt find it. He was sad and luckily it was super easy to order this replacement from amazon! I love that itβs made from reused materials, easy to clean, easy to take apart and easy to use. I couldnβt give 5 stars because it sinks too easy and often floats lopsided in the water. My son enjoys it and will actually play with (heβs very picky) so Iβd purchase again if something happens to this one.

Comes apart and Is dishwasher safe. My son loves this boat. Itβs probably his favorite part about bath time. Extremely durable. Itβs been throws around countless times and has been in the dishwasher numerous times. And I love that itβs made out of recycled plastic
