Very nice New York City toy bus. Dimensions are 10.5 inches long, about 3 inches high and 2 inches wide. Doors open up inward with a spinning cog wheel you spin with your fingers to open and close. This bus has a motorized friction motor mechanism in the front wheels so you can roll the bus on a flat surface and it will move forward with momentum and it is different from the pull back motor system. The wheels are made of a hard rubber and the rear wheels actually have dual tires side by side. Inside the bus there are little seats and a steering wheel. On the front top of the bus it says m4 110 ST-5 AV. On the side the of the bus it says Clean Air Hybrid Electric Bus and the bus number 3831. There is even a small American flag on both sides of the bus at the rear side windows. There are two mirrors on both sides of the bus. One directly on the left side of the driver and the right side mirror is a little forward to the front sticking out. The windshield wipers are painted on and are bumps instead of actual plastic windshield wipers. From the top roof view there are no numbers, just a small bump in the rear and 4 small fans (painted on) near the front of the bus. On the bottom underneath the bus there is a number 131209 and REALTOY MADE IN CHINA. The bus is held in place by two plastic like keys that you twist to remove bus from its box. And there are two small spacer plastic circles attached to the bottom that need to be removed also. The bus can be easily stored back into its box to protect it when not played with. This bus is mostly made of hard plastic and seems pretty durable. If played with roughly the windows might scratch, the mirrors might break off, and the friction motor might break if pushed hard. The box says NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS. I like to collect buses because of all the details and seats. I usually collect sports cars in the 1:18 scale and 1/43 scale. This bus has very nice detail and even though you can see the screw posts inside the bus (3 total) holding it together, it has a really nice shape and look. There is even a little tiny handicap emblem located next to the passenger front door on the right side. You or your child will have fun playing with this solid bus!

Highly recommended toy for all toddlers! Both of my small children would give this bus five stars, but because it has broken in several places, I am deducting a star.I live in New York and both of my kids are obsessed with the buses that go by, so much so, that each of their first words was “bus.” (I assure you, I couldn’t care less about the buses and did not encourage this. It must be the shape, color, and movement of the buses that attracts toddlers.) I bought the first child one of these, it instantly became his favorite toy, and was starting to be forgotten when, voila!, his younger sibling got interested in his beloved “city bus.” I bought a second one, and they use them to play together. It is easy for a 13 month old to grasp and play with.I understand that the description indicates it is not for small children, but even a short 2-foot drop knocks off a sideview mirror, cracks the windshield, or displaces the door. I recommend using heavy duty clear packaging tape for a replacement windshield — our replacement windshield has held up for about two years of heavy use.

I got this bus for my 2 year old son. I know its supposed to be for older kids but.. My son loves city buses. Every time he sees one he goes crazy and points at it, waves at it, and screams until we acknowledge that there is a bus. I figured it might be a good idea to get him a NYC bus and he loves it. He takes it everywhere we go and even sleeps with it. it is fairly well built mostly plastic but not cheap plastic. However, the way a 2 year old grabs their toys it is expected to scratch and possibly crack although it hasn’t cracked yet. After the first week both of the mirrors were gone. Overall, I’d say its a good purchase. I’ll probably get him the longer city bus when he gets older and is able to better take care of toys but for now this one will do.

This is a great collectible and I have always wanted something like it. Perhaps one day someone will create one with lights and sounds. But for those complaining about durability, keep in mind this is really an adult collectible. Not made for rough play. Not that there is a rule that says you can’t buy for a child. Those who aren’t collectors often view these things as a childs’ toy. Please keep in mind small parts and that it is not sturdy for a child as opposed to an adult and you won’t be disappointed.

Generally looks ok. My son loves it this is the only reason i wouldn’t return it, but :- the mirrors are very weak build and broke on 2nd day of playing- when came in had some scratches on the side windows- back door didnt close all the way (see photos)- scale is.t precise this toy is looks longer than it should be.- the motor used for “push and go” could be more powerful, works good only on flat hard surfaces.Other than that a perfect gift for little ones who loves MTA buses ๐

Buses are plastic but very sturdy. My daughter simply loves them.
