Yet another one for the Take-n-Play set to go with our son’s other Thomas toys. Harold has the same metallic die cast feel to accompany the other trains in the series, though no magnet of course to pull a load. Fits in with the theme as all being the same size as our other trains, so he is recommended if you already are building a collection of the Thomas Take-n-Play series.

Purchased for a 21 month old granddaughter. I recognized that it might be too small or the small parts might be a problem, but as she never played with it except as a helicopter and to carry it around, and is never unsupervised, a just watched her enjoy it. I am a firm believer that there are few toys that are off limits to girls and likewise for boys. My daughter had and played with many matchbox vehicles. And they are so easy to carry in one’s bag…

Bought it for my 2 year old son and its now his favorite toy. He’ll always come back to it and asks for it if it’s misplaced. This Harold die-cast is made very solidly. My son has knocked it around quite a bit but it seems to take the beating fine. The only weak points are the propeller which is can be easily stressed if bent, although it does help that this is one is pretty short so it doesn’t often hit the ground with a lot of impact.

These are terribly hard to find around here and a Harold in any kid’s Thomas collection is essential. I turned to Amazon to find one and this was exactly what I wanted to match with all the toy trains my son has gotten from Wal-mart. It is tough die-cast metal and seems to be holding up very well with daily use and play without chipping paint or a busted blade. If you want Harold for your 2-5 yr old, this is what you are looking for.

The Fischer Price Thomas the Train Take-n-Play HAROLD is as pictured. It is hard-to-find Harold. But, I found him. I like Harold because Harold is not a train, but still part of the Thomas family. Harold is mostly made of metal which is nice. These are good Take-n-Play trains and toys. I consider them like the Hot Wheels / Matchbox cars of Thomas, but more expensive.Thomas toys will have value over-time if you can keep them in good condition after your child grows out of playing with them. And, a lot of the trains have been discontinued and no longer in production for some time or longer.Harold came on the original Thomas blister card brand new and sealed. I recommend buying Harold for the price since Amazon has it priced really low.

I recently discovered these Thomas play sets. My preschooler is absolutely in love with Thomas and his friends. We have tons of the Thomas mini trains and lots of the big wooden trains and track. These trains are between those sizes. They are NOT compatible with wooden tracks, but there are their own sets of plastic tracks made for these trains. The ends are magnetic so they can all stick together. The tracks and trains are reasonably priced, but it IS another set that I have to spend MORE money on.

My two year old grandson was so excited that the blades on top actually spun around. Perfect size for his hands. I went on to purchase many more like this. ?
