It is a standard plastic toy. The arm moves and allows it to pick up cargo to load train cars. It seems like it would be as expected. I didn’t take it out of the package because the child got another one. The free return shipping wasn’t really free unless you live near a UPS store. I had to pay 5.99 to take it to a UPS drop off to return it. This was very misleading.

Can be used with or without the rest of the train set. Uses wheels and gears to control crane arm and hoist – not just move either by hand – just like a real crane works. A learning experience as well as fun.

My 4 year old was beyond thrilled with this. And he’s been pretty rough on it and it’s held up so far. I think this is a good little toy, I’m glad I bought it!
