I did NOT get this toy for free. But was so impressed I thought I would write a review. My 4 year old wanted a Crane for Easter. I saw a lot of review was from people that had gotten it for free, but took a chance. It is absolutely Perfect. The crane functions perfectly. The hook has weight to it so when you pull the lever it drops on its own. It extends and raises smoothly. Horn makes sounds. It is very sturdy and made with quality. If you are on the fence, JUST BUY IT. Your kids will love it!! Well worth the money!

This Crane Truck is a plastic but it feels pretty sturdy and durable. For example when you open the door you don’t have to worry about the door getting pushed too far and bending or breaking. It actually has an elastic or rubber hinge (I’m not sure which) that allows the door to actually open all the way and even pull away from the body of the truck and twist but will snap back into place and close properly. All of the hinges actually feel surprisingly sturdy for a plastic truck. The button to turn on the headlights and honk is located on the steering wheel (logical place for the horn). There are also two small buttons on the top of the cabin that are on a removable piece with a battery housing. The front button only works when this piece is inserted into the cabin and turns on the lights and makes it sound as if the engine is starting. The second button turns on the flashing lights on the top.The cabin tilts forward. There are support feet that you can drop down on the 4 corners of the truck. The wheels are hard on the outer wall but are unsupported on the inner wall and much softer there. The outer wall provides all the support and the inner wall is fairly flexible. The axles feel fairly sturdy. The crane platform has a small operators cabin but it doesn’t have a working door of any kind. It also has a housing for a light but no lights are hooked up to the housing. That was kind of disappointing since the other similar ones on the top of the truck light up but this one can’t. This also comes with 4 traffic cones which store on pegs behind the cabin when not in use.The crane arm extends to a total length of around 20-25 inches! It’s attached to a rotating platform so the crane can swing around. The crane arm goes up at an angle of about 60*. You can just pull it to that angle but can’t push it back down. It’s meant to be operated by the rotating knob on the side. In order for it to be able to extend the crane rope will need to be loose enough. You can either unwind it or you will need to press down the lever on the crane rope mechanism to allow it to freely unroll as you pull. The two handed operation of this feature may be difficult for younger children. There is another knob further up the crane arm that extends the crane forwards. Like the upward angle this can be pulled out (assuming there is slack in the rope) but can’t be pushed back in. It is intended to be operate by the knob. This may also require a two handed operation of holding down the lever on the rope mechanism and simultaneously turning the knob on the crane arm.Overall this is a pretty good quality truck with lots of moving parts and features and seems pretty durable. We’ll see how long it holds up to my nephew whom I got it for but either way I’m sure he’s going to love this truck.

My son loves all things construction, so this crane truck was a no-brainer! The toy is massive- around two feet long, and another two feet tall with the crane fully extended. It easily dwarfs most of his other toys. The crane hook is made of metal and is quite heavy. This is good for sturdiness and realism, but be mindful that it can be a slight bit hazardous if it were to swing into your child’s head. It probably won’t do any lasting damage- just a few tears and maybe an ouchie on the forehead.Overall the truck is pretty sturdy, but I do have a couple of minor gripes. On this toy, there is a bar at the front and bottom of the cab. This bar is to grab the hook when not in use. It lasted about a week before snapping off as my son impatiently yanked on the cord. On our garbage truck made by the same manufacturer, the spring loaded door broke and now hangs limply on the side of the cab. My son still loves playing with the toys, and these minor quality issues wouldn’t prevent me from buying again (and didn’t stop me from buying other toys in the line) but it’s worth mentioning. The truck has plenty of pieces that move, such as an extending boom, a crank to raise and lower the hook, and folding stabilisers. The doors to the cab open and close. The truck doesn’t come with any people figures, but my son has no problem re-purposing other toys to serve as crane truck drivers. The cab also has lights and sounds to add to the immersion of play. There’s even a horn on the steering wheel that honks! The sounds are not obnoxious, though- just the sound of an engine running at a reasonable volume. (And the batteries seem to last forever.) My son’s favourite part is probably the four removable traffic cones. He loves to set them up and then tell mommy and daddy to watch out for the construction site. It’s very cute! This is easily one of my boy’s favourite toys, and a day doesn’t go by that he doesn’t play with it. Given the size and features, I would’ve expected to pay double or even triple the price for this toy. As it stands, even with some minor durability issues, this is a toy that is well worth the money.

My son loves construction trucks and this one is great. HOWEVER, I am not happy that the crane hook is metal. Itβs a huge hazard. I tried to contact the company on their website but the form wouldnβt go through after trying 3 times. I would really like someone from the company to contact me and discuss options to replace metal hook with a rubber or plastic one ASAP. Thank you!

My son LOVES trucks, and cranes, and the like. Trusted the reviews on this one and glad I did. Great size, sturdy, and he uses it for everything from rescuing disabled vehicles, to pulling sharks out of the water, and helping load horses onto other trucks. As some of the reviews stated, the actual hook part is heavy duty indeed. And I could see how some children could mistake it to be throw or whipped around, but I havenβt had that issue at all.
