The wheels do not turn, they are very stiff, the mechanism for scoping looks cool but it is off closer hard for a 3 year old to manage, will kept around for when he is older.

My 3 year old loves this.. I had to replace his excavator that the dog chewed the bucket off of and this was the closest one to his I could find. This is great for the price and larger than his previous one, but he had a total come apart when sand or even dirt get in the wheels and prevents them from turning. Other than that it is great.

I wanted to pick up something durable for a boy’s Christmas present that could used outside to play in dirt and I was surprised how well made this was when it arrived. It has movable parts that will make him so happy for those hours of outside playtime.I remember the old school metal ones which I was concerned would rust over time, so this was inexpensive alternative. Very impressed for the price.
