My four year old great grandson asked for this for Christmas. Because of the number of Familyβs Christmas at my house was last evening. He was delighted when he opened the package. But I was not. There were no C batteries which we remedied but the front propellor doesnβt work. He did not want to send it back and we played with it in the dark and out. He loves it. It is very sturdy and I will consider Hess products again. Just a bit disappointed.

This is an amended review of the seller. I initially gave a negative review, because the batteries in the vehicle that was included with the helicopter had leaked and corroded the contacts. I was able to clean the contacts and all of the features of the vehicle and helicopter work properly. The seller reached out to me and offered a replacement which I declined. The seller acknowledged the batteries should have been removed. I donβt think a negative review should reflect unfavorably on the seller based on an oversight, especially since they responded timely with an offer to rectify the situation.

One of the two blades did not spin and it was easily replaced but it had the same issue. It was a birthday gift so no time to replace again, but itβs 20 years old. Itβs a Hess so well made to begin with. My grandson loved it.

Purchased for grandsons. Have bought 3, 2 weβre with batteries last was not. 2nd one purchased had corroded batteries. Gave it to my grandson for his birthday in May. Last one purchased says batteries included but none in box. Fortunately I opened it to make sure I wasnβt giving a broken or unusable gift.

Has slight yellowing. Lights and rotors do not work. Small car has corroded batteries. Used fresh batteries in help and still doesn’t work. Can’t give as a gift to my child if it doesn’t work. Pretty sad day.

Our family loves Hess trucks. My father in law has given Hess toys to all of his kids as they grew up and kept the tradition of giving Hess to all of his grandchildren. My son is the newest family member to receive Hess. He loves his first Hess truck so much that he got for when we to go visit for the 4th of July, my father in law got my son and airplane with a jet. When it it came to his 2nd birthday, I bought him this 2001 Helicopter with the Hummer and motorcycle. I was so impressed the airplane and jet my father in law sent. I actually bought 2, the other for our daughter ?. The forks for the front wheel on the motorcycle were broken when taking the helicopter out of the box. There was a white powdery residue all over everything, which was apparently the batteries. The white on the helicopter, motorcycle and hummer have all turned from white to yellow. The only time I have ever seen older toys this shade of yellow is when they are either exposed to second had cigarette smoke or the sun.

The color was off, batteries were missing on helicopter. Batteries were not removed on internal toys and corroded. Had to be cleaned and those batteries replaced. It works, but definitely stored in a location that caused the plastic to have a tan color.
